I’m not a fan of Harry Potter author, J. K. Rowling . . . at least I wasn’t. I’m not into the witches thing. They seem evil and dark. While speaking about Jesus being the Light that has come into the world, John also notes the opposite, that men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil (John 3:19). Witches, and their kind, are not godly and righteous and dwell in darkness and, thus, well, you get the picture. I’m not judging anyone who reads her novels. It’s just not for me. I did watch “Bewitched” when I was a young teen, but that’s the extent of my walking on the dark side.

Ms Rowling found herself in quite the row recently within an hour of tweeting: “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction,” and “the lived reality of women globally is erased.” Sounds about right to me. In fact, she followed this up by saying — “It isn’t hate to speak the truth.” Oh my! She just offended the prevailing agenda and wokeness, and this didn’t go over well with some of her 14.5 million followers or Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliff, who called her “transphobic.”

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and GLAAD, respectively, criticized Rowlings saying: “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Non–binary people are non–binary,” and she “aligns herself with an ideology which willfully distorts facts about gender identity and people who are trans.”

“FACTS!” are you serious? The scientific FACTS reveal only males have a Y chromosome with females having 2 X chromosomes. At this point, no amount of surgeries or infusion of testosterone or estrogen will change this FACT. According to the NY Post, a Dr. Paul McHugh noted that “Transgendered men do not become women, nor do transgendered women become men. All (including Bruce Jenner) become feminized men or masculinized women, counterfeits or impersonators of the sex with which they ‘identify.’” Take that, sports world which is allowing trans–girls to compete against girls. Of course the boys will win.

How people perceive themselves is altogether another matter. But the facts line–up with what Rowlings and McHugh have noted and is in concert with what God revealed when He created two genders — male and female — not 64, the current number.

Some years ago when Saturday Night Live was actually humorous, they had a skit about a family which was teaching their children the opposite of everything. Good was bad. Bad was good. It was humorous and may have been prophetic to our day.

The Prophet Isaiah wrote: Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! (Isa. 5:20f). This, too, is prophetic to our day in so many areas — (i.e. abortion – choice; “no–fault” divorce, marriage – same sex marriage, etc.).

The Apostle Paul noted what happens to those who do not honor God, but instead become fools for worshiping the creature as opposed to the Creator. He gives them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves and dishonorable passions and, therefore, they are filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice, etc (Romans 1:22–32). They deserve judgment and that’s exactly what they will receive. They will stand before the judgment seat of God (2 Cor. 5:10) and spend all eternity separated from Him (Rev. 21:8).

So, the witch–writer has a moment of lucidity as she speaks logical truth. Her thoughts are not novel, but fact. Sad that the world rejects truth . . . but they did that even when the Truth was present on earth.
